A Weekend at Gilles Peterson's Festival: "We Out Here" in Wimborne St Giles
This past weekend, we had the pleasure of attending Gilles Peterson's festival, "We Out Here," set in the picturesque grounds of Wimborne St Giles, Dorset. The festival, known for its eclectic mix of soul, funk, jazz, hip-hop, and drum & bass, did not disappoint, offering a musical experience like no other.
Among the standout performances were Matthew Halsal's mesmerizing jazz set, Asha Puthli's soulful vibes, and Mr Thing's killer DJ skills. These artists, along with many others, created an atmosphere that was both electrifying and intimate, resonating with the diverse and enthusiastic crowd.
The festival also featured an array of food trucks and stalls, serving up a variety of delicious bites that catered to all tastes. Whether you were in the mood for gourmet street food or classic festival treats, there was something to satisfy every craving.
What truly set "We Out Here" apart was the sense of community. The crowd was warm, friendly, and united by a shared love of great music. It was a space where people could dance, relax, and connect, all while enjoying some of the best sounds around.
If you’re a fan of soul, funk, jazz, hip-hop, or drum & bass, this festival should be on your radar. The vibes were unmatched, and the lineup was stellar. We're already looking forward to 2025—bring it on!
